The State Chairman of the factionalized All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Prince Marshal Okoroafor Anyanwu has called on the members of the party to work hard towards the progress of the party.

Prince Anyanwu stated this during the APGA rally held at Orlu Township Stadium, April 27, 2013.  He commended the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his magnanimity and initiative in introducing those policies that can help the state to move forward such as: the Community Government Council, which he said has helped in a big way in fast-tracking development in the rural communities and called for more support as well as to pray for him.  He noted that despite the fact that APGA is under APC but it cannot stop them from their activities.  Prince Anyanwu further charged the APGA leaders in various LGAs to be more committed in their duties.  Those contesting in the forthcoming local government election, he warned them not to see it as a do or die affair.

In an address presented by the APGA Chairman, Orlu LGA, Chief Paulinus Nnadi appealed to the people in the area to identify with Governor Okorocha’s Rescue Mission administration for its unrivalled development strides in education, road construction, bringing health to the door steps among others.

He thanked him for appointing one of their sons, Ichie Uche Best Mbanaso as Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and Deputy Chief of Staff as well as appointing Barr. Hyacinth Mbachu as SOLAD Orlu LGA.

Chief Nnadi commended the Governor for joining APC and pleaded with him to fast-track the construction work on the erosion site at St. Joseph’s Umuna, the reconstruction of Owerre-Ebeiri to IMSUTH Road and revamping of Nda Mbakwe’s Cardboard Industry at Owerre-Ebeiri.

He further expressed gratitude to Imo First Lady, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha for building a 2-bedroom flat for one of their indigent widows at Eluama, Owerre-Ebeiri and pledged their support to the Governor.

Speaking, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Ichie Uche Best Mbanaso, applauded Governor Okorocha for his steadfastness in managing the affairs of the state.  He reiterated his commitment in making sure that his ministry will never relent in realizing the agenda of the Governor in establishing industries, shops as well as revamping some of the collapsed industries and companies such as the Standard Shoe and Allied Industry which will go a long way to create more employment for the unemployed youths in the state.

APGA is split between factions loyal to the National Leader, Governor Peter Obi, a faction which is against merger with the All Peoples Congress (APC) and the faction loyal to Governor Rochas Okorocha, mainly in Imo State, which supports the merger.
