Suicide Bomber says father donated her to Boko Haram

A 13-year-old female suicide bomber, arrested after failing to detonate her deadly belt as two of her colleagues did at Kano’s Kwari textile market two weeks ago, has narrated how she was handed by her father to suspected Boko Haram jihadists, who indoctrinated her and others to carry out mass killings. Zahharau Babangida spoke to journalists Wednesday, 14 days after police detained her as she sought medical help following the twin blasts by her two colleagues at the market. A gory video released on the internet by Boko Haram insurgents, Dec. 21 revealed how the insurgents gathered hundreds of trapped residents of Bama in a school dormitory and shot them point blank, with one of the sect’s leaders describing the victims as infidels who they could no longer fend for under their new rule. Pope Francis will create new cardinals Feb. 14, following a two-day meeting of the world’s cardinals that will discuss reform of the Vatican bureaucracy, among other issues.
