The Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Makurdi, Rt. Rev. Nathan Inyom has advised the President-elect, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari to see himself as the president of all Nigerians but not as a Sheikh or Mallam as he prepares to take over the reigns of leadership on May 29.

Inyom who gave this advice while speaking in his Makurdi residence also advised Buhari not to dabble into politics of religion as, according to him, religious wars are unending wars.

“The President-elect should not dabble into politics of religion because wars of religion don’t end.  We have not made him a Mallam or a Sheikh but he should discharge his duties as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria so as to receive the collective support of all Nigerians and the prayers of the church”, he said.

Bishop Inyom who described Buhari as a man of integrity enjoined him to raise a team of credible men and women to sail through his transformation agenda for the nation.

The Cleric listed indiscipline, corruption and insecurity as major factors militating against national development and called on Buhari to address them with rapid response.

The Bishop who said that Gen. Buhari is not a miracle worker also advised Nigerians to exercise patience with the incoming government to enable him meet their expectations.
