A record-setting mass wedding ceremony took place at Umunwoha Holy Family Catholic Church Irete Owerri-West LGA on Saturday 31st October, 2015 as 25 couples exchanged vows in front of a large congregation of  faithful.

The wedding Mass, which attracted friends and well-wishers was officiated by  the chief host, Rev. Fr. Cosmas Onukwugha, the Parish Priest, assisted by Rev. Fr. Samuel Agu and Rev. Fr. Vernatius Ukachukwu.

Delivering the homily, Fr. He reminded them to always have a forgiving heart and try to get rid of hear-say because it has destroyed most families.

While thanking the couples, Fr. Samuel urged the wives to be helpers to their husbands so that their children would be given special attention in a God-fearing way. He also asked the men to help in maintaining love, peace and harmony in the family, in addition to soft and pleasant words to help gladden the hearts of their wives.

The chairman of parish council, Dr. A. A. Igwemma thanked the Parish Priest for the good work going on in the parish as he encouraged the parishioners to join to work in the  Lord’s vineyard.
