On The Real Presence

Pastors corner with Fr Henry Ibe

Without blood we die, and without the blood of Christ we die spiritually. His Precious Blood does more than just wash away our sin. It continues the flow of divine life in us, keeping us connected to our heavenly Father. Without Jesus’ blood, we would have no spiritual health or vitality. Today, therefore, the Church draws our attention to what it really is we receive at Communion. The Feast of Corpus Christi is a celebration of our belief in the Body and Blood of Christ and in his Real Presence in the Holy Eucharist – body and blood, soul and…

Is common back Pain really a medical problem?

It is honourable for professionals to know their limits and go beyond to ask for help. Asking for help in things that pertains to professional practice is not sign of weakness but sign of strength. I remembered when I wrote similar article in the Sun newspapers, in 2015, under the following caption ‘why common back pain has remained elusive to medical science’,  that was over a year ago. I had a barrage of questions from the professional class in the health sector. They poured their venom on me and cursed my column. I sat down to think why a simple…

Nigerians agree that there is an intolerable level of corruption in the land, for which a drastic measure is needed in order to move the country forward. They also believe that because our kind of corruption is “systematic and endemic”, investigations and prosecutions of offenders must be all embracing, thorough and totally devoid of any iota of discrimination, double standards, favouritism or selective justice. The crisis in the Petroleum Sector in Nigeria and the vicissitudes of history

One of the most outstanding features of modern Nigeria is the tendency for the people and their leaders to act as if there was no yesterday. When problems crop up in the country, the usual response will be to behave as if that problem was coming up for the first time; as if the problems suddenly sprang up without their roots in the events of yesterday. For this reason Nigeria keeps going around in circles pretending to solve a problem that will surely crop up again the next day. A song writer from the United States once sang in the…
