Leadership by example: Barack Obama the great …Elsewhere in America (2)

“THE GREAT!” WHY?

We can read their history to know why they deserved such a rare merit award: “The Great”. A few examples can serve: (a) Pope Saint Gregory I (c. 540 – 12 March 604), commonly known as Saint Gregory the Great, pope of the Catholic Church, is famous for instigating the first recorded large-scale mission from Rome to convert a pagan people to Christianity.  Gregory is also well known for his writings, which were more prolific than those of any of his predecessors as pope. He is also known as the Great Visionary of Modern Educational System, for his writings and contribution to the school system of education instead of apprenticeships-based -learning. (b) Pope Saint Leo I (c. 400 – 10 November 461), also known as Saint Leo the Great, was the first pope to have been called “the Great”. He is perhaps best known for having met Attila the Hun in 452 and persuading him to turn back from his invasion of Italy. He is also a Doctor of the Church, most remembered theologically for issuing the Tome of Leo, a document which was a major foundation to the debates of the Ecumenical Council of Chalcedon which dealt primarily with Christological debates and titles. (c) St. Albert the Great (Albertus Magnus) (c. 1200-1280), was German Dominican Friar and Catholic bishop, revered as the greatest German philosopher and theologian of the middle ages, among other qualities. The Catholic Church distinguishes him as one of the 36 Doctors of the church. Surely “The Great” is worth more than “Nobel Peace Award”, and Barack Obama” has both!

(1) QUALIFICATIONS

BARACK OBAMA qualified to be president in every respect, to lead the most powerful nation in the world and for eight years, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! OBAMA was able to overcome all the odds which face any presidential aspirant and much more a black African-American. As for his enemies it looked like a dream when OBAMA was sworn in as president. When he seemed to be succeeding throughout his eight year tenure his enemies fought the harder to block his road to victory. Sadly any time it seemed OBAMA could be blamed for certain nation’s misfortunes, his critics poured more venomous abuses and liked to identify him with his AFRICAN and Kenyan heritage or background. “How did this African ever qualify to lead America?” But his historic achievements and indelible marks Obama has left behind point to his convincing qualifications and merits. Many Obama critics and haters had a lot of doubts and jittering moments, feelings of freight and uneasiness, right from the start that the presidency of a black man in the country of white majority and superior aspirants would last or ever be a success story.

OBAMA QUALIFIED FOR RE-ELECTION 3RD TERM: WOW! LOOK AT THIS FINAL STUFF! It has been the wishes of a majority of Americans and Obama admirers that he could have won if he contested for a third term. But the American constitution has no spot for such arrangement. People have only wished it was possible. But it was worth reporting that Obama, who rarely boasts, curses, talks back or wishes his enemies instant death by thunder and fire admitted the obvious. President Obama admitted he was fit for a third tenure: Hear him! “I am confident in this vision because I’m confident that if I had run again and articulated it, I think I could’ve mobilized a majority of the American people to rally behind it,” Obama said in a “The Axe Files” podcast interview by former aide David Axelrod. “I know that in conversations that I’ve had with people around the country, even some people who disagreed with me, they would say, ‘The vision, the direction that you point towards is the right one,’” the outgoing president said. The Constitution limits a president to serving only two terms. Reflecting on his presidency, Obama said he’s been inspired by the “heart” and “idealism” of his staff. This is important. Who will dispute it?

Obama said it feels like the “band” is breaking up, but that he wants to devote his post-presidency to growing the “talent” and vision that began in his two terms as president of the United States. “Overall, this place never got cynical,” he said, praising the many aides he’s had over the years. “We never had that fire snuffed out. That is a point of pride for me,” he added. The president also looked forward to leaving the White House, saying he’s going to take his wife, Michelle, on a “nice” vacation because “she deserves it.” Obama pledged to “be quiet” for a bit when he leaves office — in order to “still” himself. And he indicated it won’t be long before he gets going on his “first book.” That OBAMA could have won to serve a THIRD TERM summarizes our thesis. Over two thirds of Americans and over 90% of non-Americans believe OBAMA victory was inevitable at the polls. He could have thoroughly beaten the republican man Donald TRUMP with no extra sweat! I bet you!

MOST ADMIRED MAN! “President OBAMA beats many others including TRUMP in Gallup’s Annual Most Admired Man Poll!” was a welcome Breaking news when we were ending our write up on OBAMA The Great. What can add more to the president’s reputation and proof of his qualification to be a powerful successful world leader? The results were in! For the ninth year in a row, Americans were ready to name President Barack Obama as the man they most admired, according to Gallup’s annual poll. Obama, who was named most admired man by large number of respondents, edged out President-elect Donald Trump for the honor, reports said. Since the most admired man poll’s launch in 1946, the sitting president has been named most admired man 58 times. Of the exceptions, two were presidents-elect defeating the sitting president: Obama over then-President George W. Bush in 2008 and Dwight Eisenhower over then-President Harry Truman in 1952. Behind Obama and Trump in this year’s poll are Pope Francis, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, and Rev. Billy Graham, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Dalai Lama, Bill Clinton and Bill Gates in a tie for sixth place. First lady Michelle Obama finished second in the most admired woman poll, with most of the respondents naming her as most admired woman.

The women rounding out the top 10 are German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Queen Elizabeth, Malala Yousafzai, Condoleezza Rice, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sarah Palin, reports concluded.

(2) POWERFUL:

Power does not rest only in physical strength or stamina. Obama as president was able to withstand the overwhelming vicious attacks of his numerous enemies mostly the white racists and bigots who swore from day one to oppose all his policies, to UNDO ALL HIS LEGACIES! They fought tooth and nail to derail or destabilize any project he initiated “to make America even greater than what the nation was before he assumed office”. They questioned even his birth certificate and American citizenship! Barack OBAMA did not shake. He stood his ground and completed his tenure gracefully and in glamor. OBAMA inherited the worst economic crisis in decades, a scary moment of recession with high unemployment rate and disappearance of millions of jobs in America. It is only a powerful leader in the person of BARACK OBAMA, who was able to save the economy and state from collapse adopting his own ambitious economic theory in the face of enemy opposition. Often OBAMA had to take recourse to EXECUTIVE ORDER option to accomplish good works for the people and nation.Executive Orders, it is said have full force of law when they take authority from a legislative power. It grants its power directly to the executive by the constitution. Thereby the president receives some degree of discretional powers to execute his policies.  This is being powerful indeed! If Obama is not a great and powerful president he couldn’t have surprised the world by that singular act of giving a deathblow to America’s worst enemy, the ISSIS, namely taking away the life of that terrorists’ leader, Osama Bin Laden.

To be contd.
