CYON Amuzi Obowo constructs round-about with directional signs at Ogbotoukwu
Catholic youths of St. Mary’s Parish Amuzi, Ikenanzizi Obowo – CYON have constructed a round-about with reflective signs directing commuters to their various destinations, linking the community to Aguneze, Isinweke, Etiti, Orieagu, Umuahia, Umuosinta and Okponkwume in Ihitte Uboma, Obowo and Ehime Mbano LGAs respectively.
The Catholic youths led by Joseph Iroh said that they decided to embark on the project in the overall interest of motorists and road users. He posited that often, road users miss their routes as a result of the non-existence of the traffic guide along the ever busy junction that links several communities together.
The CYON President explained that they have also visited prisoners in Owerri and Motherless babies homes at Achingali where they presented gift items; food, toiletries and financial incentives to cushion their plight and give succor as their contribution towards the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
In his brief remarks, the project committee chairman Bro. Joachim Chikere revealed that they spent huge sums of money on the construction of the project and their charity support initiatives.
He craved the indulgence of good spirited individuals to lend support to the Catholic Youth Organization of St Mary’s Ikenanzizi so that they could carry out more community development programmes and also help put smiles on the faces of the less privileged members of the society.
The CYON Leader gave profound appreciation to Rev. Dr. Fidelis Ekemgba and his curate Rev. Fr. Kevin Ohalete and members of the Catholic Youth Organization of St Mary’s Ikenanzizi for their support.
