A church service presided by Ven. Charles Akaniro preceding the celebration was held at St. Simon’s Anglican Church, Ikperejere. He was assisted in the service by Rev. Herbert Nwosu, Rev. Ohakanma Philip and others.

In his sermon, Venerable Charles Akaniro prayed God to grant peace to the community, good health to the traditional ruler, rapid development of the Ikpenwafor Community and longevity of the celebrant on the throne.
