Former Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Frank Ibezim addressed political stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) drawn from the three local Governments of Obowo, Ihitte Uboma and Ehime Mbano that constitute Okigwe South Federal Constituency on Wednesday 7th April 2017 declaring his burning passion and ambition to represent them at the green chambers of the National Assembly come 2019.

The event which took place at his Ezeoke Nsu country home, Ehime Mbano L.G.A. was graced by party leaders, stake holders, and all the Ward and LGA Chairmen.

Addressing the august assembly, Hon. Ibezim posited that in 2011 when he came back from America, he canvassed for their votes and support towards representing Okigwe South at the National Assembly but was prevented by the impunity and godfatherism prevalent in the People’s Democratic Party, his erstwhile party.

According to him, the constituents should pray against spirit of short memories and short sightedness, recalling how decisions as to who emerge as candidate were solely in the hands of godfathers.

According him, delegates were matched to the pooling booths from homes of godfathers on election days. Hon. Frank Ibezim posited history will vindicate him and his supporters for resisting the electoral manipulations and impunity which deprive the people the right to chose candidates of their choice.

The former Commissioner for Agriculture promised to advocate for voter education as a subhead in budgetary allocations if elected as a Federal House Member representing Okigwe South in the Green Chambers of the National Assembly. The event was graced by the three Royal Fathers in his constituency which included; HRH Eze Ernest Iwunze, HRH Eze H. O. Anyanwu, Ihe I of Ihitte Nsu and HRH Eze Evarestus Iwuji.

In his brief remarks, Hon. Vice Agu, a party stalwart observed that it is high time they got support from people of Obowo as one good turn deserves another.

In his contribution, Chief Ben Nnabue who came from Orlu Zone described Frank Ibezim as a shrewd and sagacious personality who has the integrity and intellectual prowess to provide dividends of democracy and effective representation if elected.
