The Rector, staff and seminarians of Assumpta Minor Seminary Naze heaved a sigh of relief on Wednesday, May 2 as St. Patrick’s Parish Nekede paid them a visit with cash and foodstuffs in fulfillment of their duty of annual seminary visit/feeding of seminarians. The visit was described as a timely one as it came at a time when the harsh economy of Nigeria has made the cost of food items to skyrocket in the markets; making it excruciatingly difficult for boarding schools to maintain a good standard of feeding for their students.

The visitors who were led by the Parish Priest of St. Patrick’s Nekede, Fr. Philip Ojimanu comprised: Fr. David Achugwo, the Associate Priest, Sir Sylvester Odoh, the Parish Pastoral Council Chairman, Mrs. Sally Nnadi, CWO President, Sir Emma Nze Anyaegbu, CMO President, some other members of the Parish Pastoral Council and some executive members of the CWO and CMO. They were warmly received by the Rector of Assumpta Minor Seninary Naze, Fr. Cyriacus Akoronye, the Academic dean, Fr. Francis Ngerem and Fr. Leo Agu, the Spiritual Director.
In his speech, Fr. Philip said that it has been in the plan of his Parish to visit the Seminary since early this year to contribute in their little way towards the feeding of the young seminarians who are the future of the Church’s priesthood. He thanked the Rector and his team of formators while assuring them that his parish will make more of such visits in the future.

In his note of appreciation, the Rector, Fr. Akoronye thanked Fr. Philip and his parishioners for their kind gestures towards the seminary. He said that their material support will go a long way in helping the seminary to cope with the harsh realities of the present economy of Nigeria. He assured them that Naze Seminary will never fail to raise for the Church young men who will serve God wherever they find themselves in the future. Fr. Leo Agu prayed for the visitors; imploring God’s blessings upon them for their magnanimity.
