The Interdiocesan Conference of Papal Knights, Dames and Medallists, Eastern Zone, rose from its meeting in Owerri on Sunday, October 6 with strong condemnation of imposition of Government levies/taxes on Mission Schools saying it is ” totally unacceptable as it is immoral.” In a communique issued at the end of the conference, the Knights and Dames advised Government to make a distinction between private schools established and run for profit and non-profit voluntary agency schools run for charity. ”Instead of imposing Levies/Taxes,  Conference recommends that Government should pay Grants-in- Aid to voluntary  Agency Schools as was done in the past.”…
