Catholic Church does not endorse political parties – CBCN

  The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, CBCN,  said that the Catholic Church is apolitical, and so, does not endorse or subscribe to any political party. The bishops made the clarification in a Press Release issued at the weekend in Abuja. The Release signed by Most Rev. Augustine Akubeze and Most Rev. Camillus Umuoh, President and Secretary respectively, also stated that no Catholic clergy should publicly endorse any candidate for political office. Adamawa killings:  43 villages destroyed in 9 months – CAN fumes

  Chairman of the Adamawa State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Dami Mamza, has blamed the security architecture in the country for the incessant killings in Adamawa State. He said that members of the security setup in the country were complicit in the killings, as 43 villages have been pillaged by what he called herdsmen terrorists, while no serious action has been taken to prevent a recurrence or apprehend the perpetrators.
