Corps member shot dead in Owerri

A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Ekene Uwaoma Martins was on Monday killed by some unknown gunmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital. The 23-year-old was shot dead around 8.30pm at Ama-wire Junction, while he was returning to his residence, alongside a friend, MacDonald. At least eight people have been killed after suspected cult members attacked Assa, in the Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State The victims were killed in a week-long attack, which started last Monday.
