  Our Lady of Mount Carmel College Emekuku celebrated her 2018 graduation and Prize Giving Day on July 20, 2018. The occasion started with a Holy Mass officiated by the Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Eustace Nwanekwu. In his homily, Fr. Nwanekwu advised the students to be good ambassadors and represent the school well in the larger society.   Friday November 17, 2017 was a day of joy for the inmates of the motherless Babies Home Emekuku, run by the congregation of the Holy Child Jesus, as the Owerri Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women organization (OACCWO) paid them a charity visit. For some time now, the Imo State Government has embarked on massive urban roads rehabilitation programme. Virtually, every major road in Owerri, the state capital, as well as Orlu and Okigwe has been part of this programme, either by total resurfacing or just fixing of some failed portions.
