36 bag First Class in FUTO

  Out of the 2,325 graduands in the 2016/2017 class of Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), 36 made First Class, 914 – Second Class Upper, 1,170 – Second Class Lower while 49 scored Third Class. The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Francis Eze disclosed this on April 3 during a press briefing for the 30th convocation ceremony of the university held on Friday April 6. Prof. Eze also said that 438 would be conferred with Post Graduate degrees and diplomas. A breakdown of the higher degrees shows that 46 will be conferred with Ph.D, 250 – Masters Degree…

VC raises fresh alarm over encroachment on FUTO land

The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), Imo State has raised fresh concern over continued invasion of its land and warned those involved in the persistent incursions to immediately desist from such act. Briefing the Press on Tuesday, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Eze complained that despite extensive benefits given to the host communities which include: medicare, employments, favourable admission policies amongst others, acts of encroachment on the university land have persisted thus robbing the university of worthwhile projects. FUTO holds 35th Matriculation -Admits only 27 percent applicants

Matriculation ceremony marks the formal admission of students into a university. FUTO Postgraduate students raise alarm over new policy – Say PG now money making revenue

Postgraduate students of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) has raised the alarm over what they called “a cruel decision” by the university whereby a postgraduate student admitted for a Masters Degree which should last for one year or two but which is allowed by university management to drag for say eight years, is expected to pay school fees for the eight years or more. Pensioners, Students Shutdown Owerri …Over unpaid pension, bad roads
