Better alive than a dead land owner – Adesina

Asked about the ancestral attachment by the people of those states to their lands, he said: “Ancestral attachment? You can only have ancestral attachment when you are alive. If you are talking about ancestral attachment, if you are dead, how does the attachment matter? “The National Economic Council that recommended ranching didn’t just legislate it, there were recommendations. “So, if your state genuinely does not have land for ranching, it is understandable; not every state will have land for ranches. But where you have land and you can do something, please do for peace. What will the land be…

STATEMENT OF MOST REV.  IGNATIUS  KAIGAMA  ARCHBISHOP OF JOS AFTER THE RECENT JOS KILLINGS

I hear that herdsmen are on the prowl again and there is bloodshed, murder of infants, youths, men and women in huge numbers in our beloved land of “peace and tourism”. The flagrant and despicable taking of human lives and the continued destruction to homes and means of livelihood is a disgrace to humanity and a shameful projection of a negative image of Nigerians.   The  gruesome murders have robbed me of the enthusiasm, energy and pride with which…

They have equally touched parts of Kogi, Nasarawa and Southern Kaduna and have brazenly spilled over, unrestrained; into communities in the border area of Enugu State in the Eastern States and parts of the South West. These unmistakable jihadists are armed to the teeth and would brook no…

Suspected herdsmen or hired killers for real?

cattle colony

I vehemently disagree with and disapprove of the tagging of suspected hired killers (Terrorists) as herdsmen. In as much as our security has not been able to establish their culpability, shall we still trivialize a calculated attempt to wipe Christians out? It would be recalled that the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) in reaction to this barbarism said: “Since the president has refused to call the Nation’s Security Agencies to order, we are left with no choice than to conclude that THEY ARE ACTING A SCRIPT THAT HE APPROVES OF. He (the president) should no longer continue to…
