Ohakim Warns Okorocha For Desecrating The House Of God

Rochas anointing Service

Former Imo State Governor, Ikedi Ohakim has taken a swipe at Governor Rochas Okorocha by posturing as a priest of the Most High God by anointing some sons and daughters who had gathered at the Government House chapel to worship their God. Ohakim in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Collins Ughalla, described Okorocha’s action as a despicable act, stating that it is regrettable that the Governor who should have been a role model has become the worst example of what a governor should not be, by his steady decline into infamy. Ohakim said “By impersonating the clergy,…

The quest for second term in office by politicians

The quest for second term in office by Governors and Presidents has not always achieved the desired result and successive office holders have not learnt a lesson from the mistake of others before them. The former Governor Ikedi Ohakim of Imo State neglected his home zone (Okigwe) and concentrated his attention on the development of other zones with the hope that these zones will surely help him achieve second tenure so that he will use the second tenure to look at his zone. CWO Ahiara Diocese ends Home/Abroad August Meeting

L – R Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Msgr. Nwalo, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, Fr. Akuchie, Nneoha Felicia Nwogu …Prof. (Mrs.) Viola Onwuliri honoured To say that the month of August is, in recent time becoming synonymous with women of Igbo extraction may be stressing the obvious. This is because it is within this period that women residing far and near converge at their various communities in solidarity with those at home, where they saddle themselves with the task of deliberating issues of urgent attention that affect their communities, as well as those which may be quite peculiar to the women folk. However,…

Sanity at the Control Post at Last

It is better late than never, they say. So at last, there is sanity at the Control Post Owerri. Apparently, decency is fast returning to the much abused area, which incidentally is the gateway to Imo state from Onitsha and Portharcourt. It is the Control Post that welcomes visitors and guests to the State Capital, Owerri and for once, first time visitors will no longer get the impression of a dirty, lawless and disorganized state as soon as they reach the Control Post. Similarly, those living at the Control Post and neighbouring areas will take a deep breath, while…

A message to His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha

“Please, recall and pay those employed under the local government council in 2007/2008 their 38 months salary”. A shepherd is one who is ready to lay down his life for his sheep.  He is one, who is ever ready to fight for his flocks against wild animals, thieves, rain, hunger etc.  Jesus is a good example because he demonstrated it, when he fed the four/five thousand men, healed the deaf, blind, lepers, the paralyzed etc.  He capped it all when he died for those he came to save. His Excellency, you told Imolites to vote you in 2011 that you…

What Governor Rochas Okorocha should do before 2015

Whenever a bad follower is selected or elected to lead a group, the members suffer for it.  Those who seek leadership are usually bad followers as they find it difficult to submit to others’ leadership.  If they fail to be selected or elected, they break away or divide the group into factions which they head.  There is always clash of authority even in the Churches resulting in breakaways or split.  Some in leadership positions find it extremely difficult to step down when their tenure elapses.  Then they manage to step down or forced out of office, they resign from the…

Monthly Clean-Up and the Rot of Owerri

OWERRI has lost its enviable position as the cleanest state capital in the country. Sadly, it now ranks below most of the other states in matters of sanitation.  The question is why? Why is Imo-State reluctant to clean up its mess? Why has the Rochas Okorocha Government, which threw its weight behind the monthly sanitation exercise at inception, sitting back and watching Owerri being swallowed up in dirt and debris? Is the challenge too much for the Government or it doesn’t really care? We recall that when the governor started newly some three and half years ago, he was even…

Ikedi Ohakim wants to Govern Imo again

Those who think they have seen the back of former Governor, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, as the number One citizen of Imo State had better beware. No to Godfatherism and “Settlement Politics”!

THE GUSTY ELECTION winds are blowing again – 2015 is around the corner. There is hardly anyone who is not feeling it. In seven months, the long awaited year will be here, whether we like it or not. Ordinarily, we’re not a people known to prepare in advance for things, even natural disasters like flooding and erosion. Expected and unexpected catastrophes meet us pants down and leave us mouth agape, with only God to thank for our survival. But in politics, we’re not at all naïve. We’re quite smart and leave nothing to chance. We form parties ahead of time,…
