  There is no respite for the dead as St. Vincent De Paul Mortuary Umunakanu Owerre, Ehime-Mbano LGA came under attack as unidentified gunmen stormed the morgue at the early hours of Sunday 8” April, 2018 pulling down the perimeter fence housing the complex. Trouble started for the mortuary owned by Sisters of the Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy (DMMM) Congregation, after the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha visited Ehime Mbano Campus of Imo State Polytechnic. The Imo state Police command yesterday July 6th paraded 25 suspected and prospective cult members of some polytechnics in Imo state, including the Alvan Ikoku College of Education and Imo state Polytechnic. The Police acting on a tip off from residents of Emi village in Owerri North local government area stormed the Emi river at about 3.30am when initiation process for new members was being carried out. Lectures begin at Imo State Polytechnic, Orlu Campus

The Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo recently moved some courses like Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Building Technology, Computer Technology among others to Orlu Campus according to the directive of the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. The school which was located inside TESAI, opposite Bishop Shanahan College Orlu has only few lecture halls with administrative block.
