Archbishop Obinna Inaugurates Assumpta Parish Council

  The Most Rev. Anthony Obinna, Catholic Archbishop of Owerri and Parish Priest Maria Assumpta Cathedral Owerri on Sunday, Feb. 24, inaugurated the Parish Pastoral Council. Speaking during the inauguration, Archbishop Obinna said because of the four-year tenure regime the new Parish Council will be the last he will appoint before his retirement. The association of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary has become solidly founded in St. Augustine’s Deanery Ezinihitte through its inauguration ceremony at the deanery centre, St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish Itu Ezinihitte, Saturday, June 8, 2013.  The exercise attracted members and invitees from 21 parishes in the deanery who appeared in their full uniform.
