  District 8 of the Owerri Grand Commandery of knights of St John International (KSJI) and their Ladies Auxiliary (LAUX) Saturday February 4, held this year’s District Muster and Grand Inspection.   The venue was the KSJI complex behind the Maria Assumpta Cathedral Owerri. It was attended by the seven local commanderies that make up the District 8 of Owerri namely: Holy Cross Commandery 422 Owerri, St. Michael’s Commandery 539 Akabo, Holy Family Commandery 560, Izombe and Assumpta Commandery 655 Aladinma.   New Officers to run the affairs of the Holy Order of the Knights of St. John’s International, St. Charles Borromeo Commandery 565, Ehime Mbano has unanimously elected Lt. Basil Iwuanyanwu (JP) as Worthy President at the helm of affairs among other elected Executives for the next four years. Bro Basil Iwuanyanwu was elected President of the Commandery unanimously unopposed as there was no contestant against him for the plum position. Knights of the church have been called upon to be strong participants in the affairs of the civil society. The Catholic Archbishop of Owerri, His Grace, Most Rev. Anthony J.V. Assumpta Sub-Council Invests second Degree Knights

The newly invested Knights of St. Mulumba, Assumpta Sub-Council have been enjoined to strive for holiness as it is the bedrock of the Christian doctrine. The Chaplain of the Sub-Council, Rev. Fr. Cosmas Edochie gave the charge during the investiture of 10 members of the Sub-Council who were recently promoted to Second Degree of the Order after meeting the necessary requirements, including a written examination. The Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria (KSM), Mater Ecclesiae Sub-Council Mgbidi, Orlu diocese has raised six brothers to the Second Degree.  The wives of the knights whom they call Sisters were similarly promoted. Knights and Ladies of St. John’s International Borromeo Commandery (565), Ehime Mbano concluded a two-day retreat on Saturday June 16, 2013 at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. Christians have been enjoined to develop a heart of compassion, the type that enables one to feel for others and take their pains as one’s own. Rev. Fr. Knights in Nsukka rise in defence of the unborn child

The Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba, St. Peter’s Sub-Council based at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, took this year’s battle in defence of the unborn child outside Nsukka urban on Sunday, April 21, 2013. In groups of 10 each, their members attended Masses in five different parishes in Orba, Obukpa, Ovoko and Ibagwa-Aka to deliver Pro-life sensitization talks and interact with members of the congregation in the fight against abortion.
