Both descriptions accentuate the messianic character of Christ’s ministry. As Light to the nations, he dispels the darkness of sin and division, shining through the entire cosmos and illumining our path back to the Father. Doing Whatever He Tells Us

Today we hear Mary’s very last words in Scripture: “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2:5). By this statement, we are invited to submit to Christ in all aspects of our life. Before issuing this command, Mary had already said to her Son: “They have no wine” (John 2:3). Her maternal intercession always covers all our needs even before we present them to the Lord. As she intervened on behalf of the newly married couple at Cana, so Mary (our Advocate) continues to make heavenly intercessions for the needs of her children here on earth. Pope Francis has a lamb draped around his neck during nativity visit

  The pontiff was visiting the parish of St Alphonso Maria de ‘Liguori, in the district of Justine, on the outskirts of Rome when an onlooker placed the animal over his neck. He was at the site to spend the afternoon of the Epiphany festival there where parishioners had set up a special nativity scene. Pope Francis lived up to his role as the shepherd of God’s flock when he was given a lamb to carry on his shoulders. Local people had recreated Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’s birth, with shops, stalls, inns and other scenes of everyday life….
