Corps member shot dead in Owerri

A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Ekene Uwaoma Martins was on Monday killed by some unknown gunmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital. The 23-year-old was shot dead around 8.30pm at Ama-wire Junction, while he was returning to his residence, alongside a friend, MacDonald. Ekene a 2016 graduate of History and International Studies from the Imo State University, Owerri, was serving at Ogun state for his one year National Youths Service Corps programme. Over 800 Army Personnel, others climb Aso Rock for fitness test

Over 800 officers and soldiers of the Guards Brigade, Nigerian Army, family members and personnel of other security agencies participated in this year’s Ascent to Aso Rock to determine their fitness and readiness for the job. Also, all the five battalions in the Brigade Guard, a special arm of the Nigerian Army in charge of the presidency, participated in the exercise. The Guards Brigade Commander, Brig-Gen.
