JOY IN THE MIDDLE OF SORROW

It’s “Gaudete Sunday” today. That’s why we are using rose candles and vestments.“Gaudete” is Latin for “rejoice”. The Church invites us to rejoice because Christmas is closer. The eclipse is nearly over and the sun is set to shine again. Christ is the sun that lights up the dark night sky. So we are called to rejoice. But why should we rejoice considering all the daily hardships that we face? Why should we rejoice given the moral decadence, political roguery and social apathy that pervade our land?
