No light no payment – Orlu customers warn EEDC

Customers of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) in Orlu and environ have expressed dismay over what they described as “cheating and inaccurate Billing” by the company in the area. Most of the customers expressed their grievance when the workers of the EEDC, who were on patrol for disconnection of light for those who have not paid for th electricity consumed in the month of June. IMSUTH Staff reject newly released Promotions – As hospital hikes bills

  Workers of Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH) Orlu, have expressed their grievances over the recent staff promotion list released by the Board and Management of the hospital which they said was characterized by injustice. Some of the staff, who spoke to THE LEADER on grounds of anonymity, disclosed that there was a promotional examination in which affected staff that deserve promotion participated.   A three-storey building, still under construction, along Imo State University Teaching Hospital (IMSUTH) Road Orlu, has collapsed, following a heavy down pour that lasted for several hours last Saturday night, April 11. A store-keeper at Umualumaku-Ehime Mbano took a risk of a lifetime recently as he disarmed an armed robber. The bizarre incident took place at a pharmacy store situated at Umuiregbu at 7pm. The Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri has strengthened security in parishes following series of robbery incidents in parishes and church institutions in the archdiocese. Priests  have been on alert as men of the underworld seemed to have sworn to make the rectory their primary target.  Within the past three months, robbers have attacked not less than six parishes in the Archdiocese.
