FUTO holds 35th Matriculation -Admits only 27 percent applicants

Matriculation ceremony marks the formal admission of students into a university. JAMB releases criteria for admission into Nigerian universities

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says the point system copied from its website as criteria for admission into tertiary institutions in the country and currently circulating was a mere illustration. This is contained in a statement by the board’s Head, Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos. JAMB blasts varsities over low admission

The Registrar and Chief Executive of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, has threatened to publish names of universities that deny candidates admission by not taking up to their carrying capacities. Speaking to newsmen recently on the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which was taken all over the country and abroad last week, Prof. Ojerinde blamed the poor admission placement in the universities on the management of the institutions whom, he said, do not utilize the prescribed carrying capacities by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
