  As the pre-synod gathering on youth approaches, Vatican organizers are inviting young people around the globe to join in the discussion through Facebook groups in six different languages. The 2018 Synod of Bishops on Youth, Faith, and Vocational Discernment will take place this October, but a pre-synod meeting with 315 young people from around the world will take place in Rome from March 19-24. “With this path the Church wishes to listen to the voices, feelings, faith and even the doubts and critiques of the youth,” Pope Francis said in announcing the pre-synod event. Imo Poly Rector briefs press on forthcoming Convocation

The management of Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo has set aside February 23 and 24 as days for the school’s 5th Convocation ceremony. The Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Wence Madu who disclosed this on Wednesday February 15 in a press briefing at the school’s conference hall stated that the convocation would be for students of the 2005 to 2016 sessions.  He  noted that the event would feature reward of students’ performances. The Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), St. Charles Parish Umunumo, Ehime Mbano has conferred Ezienyi and Patron award on Sir Longinus Onyenagubo for his philanthropic disposition. Youths storm Owerri for Rochas Jobs, stipend

Last week Monday, Governor Rochas Okorocha announced the release of N5bn for youths employment, and approved N20,000 monthly stipend for unemployed graduates in the state. Addressing the youths in their thousands at the Heroes Square, Owerri during the launching of youth empowerment Programme tagged, “Youth must work”, the governor said that under the programme, 100 youths will be trained as pilots in South Africa while another 200 will undergo entrepreneurial training in Singapore.
