The officers’ condition weren’t immediately known.

Mayor Bill de Blasio is at the hospital.

Police tweeted that people should expect a police presence and heavy traffic and that they should avoid the area.

In December, a police officer on Staten Island was hit by friendly fire as officers responding to a domestic dispute call shot and killed a man carrying a knife.
