CGC Umualumaku Umueze interacts with the people

The Government Liaison Officer (GLO) for Umualumaku Umueze Community Government Council (CGC), Engr. Patrick Mbaneme has informed the community that the present regime has invested over 400 million Naira on human capital development and provision of infrastructure for the community.

Engr. Patrick Abaneme disclosed this during an inaugural meeting of the CGC and villagers which was held at Orie-Umualumaku on May 10, 2013.

According to him, the members of the committee include HRH Eze Sir C.U. Okoro, the traditional ruler of the community as Chairman, Vitus Okaoma, the Secretary, Natty Igwe, Youth Leader, Mrs. Salomena Emereonye, the Woman Leader and himself, Engr. Patrick Abaneme, the GLO and Romanus Ike the Community Liaison Officer (GLO).

The 400 million Naira bill include: Road Construction, Scholarships, Free Education, Stipends for students and pupils in primary and secondary schools plus the total sum of construction of ongoing model school.

In his contribution, Eze Sir C.U. Okoro told the villagers that the new Rescue3 Mission Programme of Owelle Rochas Okorocha is for the good of all.

Eze Okoro postulated that unity of purpose and support for the projects embarked upon by the present government will enhance the standards of living of the people.

According to him, security of lives and properties are collective responsibility of all.  He further urged the members of the Community Government Council to be transparent in their activities.  He warned that anyone caught in antithetical activities will have himself to blame.

At the meeting, the issue concerning the generation of the mandatory N250,000 that attracts the 1 million Naira state grant was raised.

Sir Andrew Agim urged the Eze in Council to ensure that they raised the fund so as to attract the grant.  The Secretary to the Umualumaku-Umueze CGC, Vitus Ukaoma postulated that the new member CGC concept has been embraced by the community.  He further stated that the community has been in the dark with devoid of any impact of government developmental efforts all this while and craved the indulgence of the people in supporting the new platform so as to attract dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

Speaking on his priorities, the GLO for Umualumaku Umueze, Eng. Patrick Abaneme elucidated that the Oriendu Market, completion of the ongoing Nkwo-Durukwu-Oriendu Orieagu Roads are paramount.  He promised that the existing institutions like the town union will be incorporated in the new socio-political arrangement.
