KSM St. Paul’s Sub-Council Owerri elects new Executive

St. Paul’s Sub-Council Knights of St. Mulumba Owerri, on Saturday, May 18, 2013 elected a new executive to pilot the affairs of the Sub-Council for the next three years.  This followed the expiration of the tenure of the former executive led by Bro Paschal O.J. Ihemedu.

Prior to the election, Bro. Ihemedu expressed gratitude for the support and unstinting cooperation given to him by his fellow brothers and charged them not to relent in the service of God and defence of the Catholic Church.  Bro. Ihemedu sued for peaceful conduct of the election and wished the new executive a successful tenure.

Bro. Evarest Njemanze; New Grand Knight.

At the end of the election Bro. Evarest Njemanze emerged Worthy Grand Knight (unopposed) while Bro. C.O.E. Onukwu was elected Deputy Grand Knight, Bros. Mike Nwobi and Christian Ezem were elected unopposed as Worthy Secretary and Worthy Assistant Secretary respectively.  The posts of Worthy Advocate, Worthy Chancellor, Worthy Treasurer, worthy Financial Secretary, Worthy Physician and Worthy Warden were won unopposed by bothers Thaddeus N. Eke, Ifenyirinwoke Celestus, Innocent Ike, Albert Oragba, Chukwulete Ukeekwe and Eusebius Okechukwu Egbuacho.  Brothers Tony Olorondu and Jude Opara were also elected unopposed as Worthy First and Second Assistant Warden.  Brother Okere Cyril clinched the post of Worthy Auditor while Bro. Onyekpere George was elected Worthy Lecturer.  The post of Worthy PRO went to Bro. Donatus Ihejirika.

A total of forty-five brothers participated in the election.  The elected officers were led through the oath of office by the Worthy Chaplain of the Sub-Council, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Nwachukwu.

In his acceptance speech after the oath of office, the Worthy Grand Knight, Bro. Evarest Njemanze on behalf of the new executive, thanked the brothers for the confidence reposed in him and promised to sacrifice his time, talent and treasure to serve the order.

According to the KSM Constitution, the officers shall hold offices for three years in the first instance and be eligible for re-elected for a second term only.
