Cultural Carnival of the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria. (CYON) Owerri Archdiocese, Zone7 Ohaji, have ended. In a speech he delivered at the seminar to mark the week, Rev Fr. Prof John Obilor regretted that Nigerian politicians have no programme for the youths.  The university Don noted how aged politicians try to die in offices without recourse to the youth who are the younger generation.

Fr. John said. “Our politicians who are your elders do not consider the fact that an aged brain cannot make a good decision. They should allow the youths to rule the nation with the fear of God.”

Observing the high level of corruption in the country, the university Don lamented that Nigerians who are in prisons overseas prefer being there to coming to Nigeria because the level of  facilities in their prisons are far better than our various homes here in Nigeria.

Turning to the youths, the lecturer of Philosophy, Imo State University, Owerri, advised them to be ready to accept challenges. Your future is in your hands, don’t give up? he said.

Prof. Obilor, who was also the moderator of the youth carnival, expressed delight at the turn-out of the youths from their different parishes and advised them to learn how to be their Brothers’ Keepers and sympathetic to the bereaved for an injury to one is equally an injury to all.
