Primary School huge pension arrears: A task that must be accomplished

Perhaps work has started at the most difficult site in the state.  The PS and SUBEB Headquarters staff retirees whose pension payment is ignored for unknown reason smiled to their banks when cheques for 2 months were handed to them at their respective CGC headquarters.  This is for Sept and Oct 2012.  The biblical 5 loaves and 2 fishes, still 11 months in arrears November 2012 to September 2013.  other Imo State school system retirees are up to date.  This payment was made when the government trimmed itself of the army of lieutenants.  Can this be the reason for this breakthrough?

The fact remains that the greatest leader is that, who identify and rescue the least privileged.  Egypt once removed their leader because he supported those in power instead of empowering others with his support.  The PS retirees are the lowest group of pensioners.  They have no one in any assembly or in executive.  They cannot protest because they are aged, sickly frail and poor.   The NUP which suppose to protect their interest is interested only in themselves instead.  The situation becomes precarious; the debt mounts and is today a monster and nauseating.

It is however not insurmountable.  It only takes a government to make firm determination then clear the debt.  Make the necessary verification, find out genuine government pensioners pay the dreaded gratuity and pension arrears out and stop once and for all, this scenario pension managers manipulate and steal government fund and put retirees into gnashing of teeth, while deceiving government on the actual situation of the matter.

Retirees are not politicians who cannot call spade a shovel.  We will appreciate, pray and even follow the governor who paid us wherever he goes.  As we are seeing “emebo mbu” ‘never done before’ in education, massive rural road work, where the contractors did not disappear.  The real new face of Owerri capital city etc.  Retirees cannot say that nothing is happening.  No one can shout them down in singing praise to their benevolence government.

Advantage of this huge debt payment will be enormous if carried out e.g.

1)  This huge reserve of work force can be deployed into the novel 637 CGC at no extra cost to the government if so desired.  Those healthy will be proud to attend this new work at their village square.  They can be called volunteer force.

2)   This 4tier of government experiment originating in Imo will get lifeline as the happy and obedient retirees will pick up pen and table and do what they know how to do better – administration.

3)   Pension thefts will be a thing of the past.  As these retirees will among other official duties prepare and pay themselves their pension and gratuity.  There is no how someone will sneak in any ghost name.  Pay them gratuity and pension while the real government pensioners are denied the fund made available for their debts.

4)   The senior citizens will obey government directives be transparent, efficient and more of management by objective.

5)  If directed to harmonize, upgrade their salary increase lapses will do it more accurately, transparently and save government fund, instead the usual pension manage business as usual i.e., misappropriating, diverting, extorting or outright stealing.

6)  They will perform their duties with God’s fear.  Corrupt free for they have no protection, immunity, or God father to shield them or use them to loot.

7)   All those who believe that to pay retirees their retirement entitlements is a waste of fund rather prefer to steal or divert it will have no business any longer including some NUP collaborators.

8)  If this idea is put to practice and the governance in the state soar to a greater height and vibrancy, mere critics might have been beaten hollow.  Opposition party of any sort will not have any root anywhere in the state.  Vibrancy will be stronger than their grip effort.

I appeal to Owelle the rescue government commander to implement this idea, beat others and carry go.

To sustain this exercise, this payment will be removed from LGPB return to the usual establishment ministry.  Process and pay by CGC officials.

Obviously, LGPB is biased over primary school system.  They never highlight this group of retirees to benefit from any good from government e.g. to the pensioner daily arrears payment when they present not a single PS retirees so called clearance payment on 18th August 2011.

The payment of gravity N5m to N1 made last year when the PS retirees were inadvertently avoided.

Infact managing the PS retirees by LGPB is like someone controlled by an arch enemy who will rather expect nothing good there from.

The good willing Owelle should stop listening to these views by pension thieves that retirees are big fellows.  Their children are all over the world e.g. Europe, America, Asia pushing dollars, Euros etc., as they are very busy at banks transacting exchanges.  The truth is that most of them are helpless, extremely suffering and badly need their pension stipend to keep them bit longer in this planet earth.  The government should stop seeing pension payment as of less important.  To be paid when funds remain after every other thing are settled especially for PS retirees.  For there shall be no blessing for any government that deliberately deny its senior citizen caring.

This pension debt is a task that must be accomplished.  These retirees very much need their money, they are not dead woods.  Other governors are clearing theirs, Owelle, Senior Advocate of the Masses (SAM) is equal to the task.  This is the time to act and to God be the glory.

Imo … must be better when primary school pensioners are paid!!!  Amen.
