PDP Okigwe zone restrategizes for 2015 – As Ohakim forgives detractors

Chief Ikedi Ohakim, former Governor of Imo State played host to Ward executives, LGA officers and Okigwe zonal leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on January 4, 2014 at his Burma Retreat residence, Okohia Osu, Isiala Mbano local Government Area of Imo State.

Chief Uzowuru, Okigwe Zonal Chairman of the party presided over the event, which had Prof. Chudi Uwazurike of the Federal House and four members of Imo State House of Assembly in attendance.

The House of Assembly members present at the event include: Hon. Celestine Ngobiwu, Simon Iwunze (Whiteman), Kingsley Dimaku and Hon. Ekwebelem.

THE LEADER spoke with former Governor Ikedi Ohakim who thanked God for his robust and ebullient health.

The former governor posited that he has forgiven all those who had cast aspirations on his personality.  According to him the unity of all the leaders in Okigwe zone is remarkable, paramount and encouraging.

He postulated that he has closed ranks with Senator Ifeanyi Araraume who has rejoined PDP and Chief Maurice and Cosmos Iwu and other leaders from Okigwe Zone to ensure that Okigwe Zonal interest is protected.

The former governor denied pocketing state funds and owning choice properties across the world, and noted Fr. Mbaka has apologized to him on the false allegation that he manhandled a priest.

Chief Ikedi Ohakim, who was present at the occasion with his wife, Bar. Chioma admonished party faithful to remain steadfast and shun anti party activities.

In his own contribution, the Okigwe Zonal Chairman of the party, Chief Uzowuru thanked the party officers for their support and solidarity with PDP inspite of short comings.  He informed the audience that Chief Longers Anyanwu has replaced Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku as the State Coordinator of SURE P.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was highly eulogized for his monumental achievements in governance.

Glowing encomiums were paid on the President of the federal republic of Nigeria for the present robust economy, stabilized supply of petroleum products, curtailing the excesses of the Niger Delta Militant and noticeable improvement on all sectors of the Nigeria society.

A motion for a vote of confidence on President Jonathan was moved and it was unanimously supported.  All the 65 ward chairmen and the party and six LGA helmsmen attended the meeting.  Prominent personalities at the event include: Prof Chudi Uwazurike of the National Assembly, Prof. Nnamdi Obaraeri, Chief Ethel Nwachukwu, Barr. Jerry Egemba, Princess Miriam Onuoha, Hon. Patrick Ndubueze, Chief Zeck Martins Nnadozie, Rt. Hon Maxwell Duru and others.
