Umuagwo Poly: Imo govt warns troublemakers

Rev. Fr. Dr. Wencenslaus Madu (Rector)
Imo State Government has decried the unpatriotic activities of some owners of the hostels at the State Polytechnic Umuagwo and few of their collaborators from the area who he noted are out to cause another trouble in the area with the aim of disrupting the activities and programmes of the institution.
The Governor’s Senior Special Assistant (SSA) Media, Mr. Sam Onwuemedo stated that information at the disposal of the government is that these elements have begun to regroup, have sworn to cause problem in the institution and disrupt its academic programmes using the multi-campus policy of the government on the institution as an excuse.
“The multi-campus status accorded to the institution has come to stay. It is a creation of the law, and there is nothing anybody can do about it. The state government came up with that policy in the overall interest of the education loving people of the state”. Onwuemedo pointed out that most of the institutions in the country operate multi-campuses, stating that “the state government does not see any reason some people out of greed, should be causing trouble over that, just to serve their selfish purposes.
