KSM, St. Paul’s Sub-council promotes five to 2nd degree

The Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria, St. Paul Sub-Council Owerri on Saturday, February 15, 2014 in a colourful ceremony, admitted to the 2nd degree of the Order five Knights and their Ladies.

Held at Alvan Chaplaincy Owerri, the event’s high points included, the induction and investiture of the candidates during a Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Worthy Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Nwachukwu and assisted by Rev. Fr. Innocent Orji, Parish Priest, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Egbeada.

Fr. Nwachukwu, in his homily, commended the sub-council saying that it was his first time seeing the Ladies go for investiture together with the knights.

He charged the Knights to ensure that good leadership existed wherever they find themselves.  He advised them to always think of the welfare of the people they are leading and should be careful with their spoken words to avoid leading people astray.

As Knights, he urged them to always have compassion for the people entrusted into their hands just like Jesus did and always strive for excellence in all their endeavours and live sterling example to those they are leading.

The Worthy Grand Knight, Bro. Evaristus Njemanze presided over the investiture ceremony and the lady inductees were led in oath  by LSM President, Lady Patricia O. Ihemedu.

Still in the spirit of investiture, Bro. Martin Oparanozie and Bro. Hyacinth Iwuoha were appreciated for their good deeds in the Order.

Speaking shortly after the investiture, the Worthy Grand Knight on behalf of the Sub-Council lauded the priests for their advice, the Rev. Sisters,  the investees and others present for their patience and understanding.

Fr. Innocent Orji expressed his profound gratitude and happiness being in their midst saying he has gained more knowledge about the knighthood.

Among those elevated to 2nd degree include: Bro. & Sis. Isaac Nnokwe, Bro. & Sis. John C. Obasi, Bro. & Sis. John Onwu, Bro. & Sis. Jude Opara and Bro. & Sis. Maurice Aniebo.

In a vote of thanks on behalf of other investees as Bro. Maurice Aniebo  expressed gratitude to the Order for elevating them saying that the decision to be a knight was the right one. He thanked all that ensured that the event was a successful one. They promised to live up to the responsibility of their new rank.
