Lectures begin at Imo State Polytechnic, Orlu Campus
The Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo recently moved some courses like Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Building Technology, Computer Technology among others to Orlu Campus according to the directive of the State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
The school which was located inside TESAI, opposite Bishop Shanahan College Orlu has only few lecture halls with administrative block. Meanwhile the state government is working hard toward putting other essential facilities in order to make the place conducive for the students and the management.
When The Leader visited the school, students were seen taking lectures while those who are through with their own were going home.
In a chart with The Leader, a student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mr. Chinonso Ibe noted that lectures commenced immediately they were ask to move to Orlu Campus and since then, they have been having lectures he said.
When asked about the relocation of some courses to Orlu Campus, he described it as a welcome development, but regretted that some students would find it very difficult to attend lectures due to the distance and the high cost of transportation.
Mr. Ibe therefore appealed to the state government to help them by building a hostel for students.
All effort made to speak with the Head of Administration in the Campus, Mr. Moses Ajoku at the time of this report were not successful as he was not on seat.
