The Chaplain, Sancta Paule Sub-Council Osu, Knights of St. Mulumba, Okigwe Diocese, Rev. Fr. Dr. Cajetan Ehiem, made the call during the 2nd Degree Investiture of deserving Knights and Ladies of the Sub-Council held 15th March 2014 at Mulumba Hall, St. Paul’s Parish Osu, Isiala Mbano LGA.

The cleric who expressed disgust at the way and manner society is tending towards immorality and penchant for anti-God legislations in recent times, drew attention to an alleged move by the National Assembly to out-law private and mission-owned hospitals and urged Knights to rise against  that and similar legislations against the church. He called on Catholic Knights in positions of authority to bring their faith to bear on their job.

He maintained that Knights as people consecrated to God, should not allow anything to distract them. He urged them to remain focus on their aspiration to be God- like, shun vindictive and retaliating tendencies and imbibe forgiveness with the view to attaining perfection. Fr. Ehiem congratulated the new investees and charged them to live up to their calling.

Those raised to 2nd Degree were Brothers Emma Ozurigbo, Oliver Nwogu-Eke, Boniface Osuji. Others included Brothers Sylvanus Chkwem, Emmanuel Chukwuezi and Jude Okoro. While the Ladies were Ozurigbo J, Nwogu-Eke U, Lady Osuji, Lady Chikwem, Lady Chukwuezi, G. Osuji, E. Madu and J. Obiefule.

Highlight of the occasion was the decoration of the investees in their appropriate regalia at the instance of the Grand Knight, Chief A.A. Ibegbulam, who in his address told them, ” To whom much is given much is expected” and therefore charged them to brace up to the challenges of their newly acquired status in the Order.

He appreciated their Chaplain for being there for them at all times and for his love for the flock. He called for support for the entire brotherhood for the investees to enable them to perform creditably well.

Similarly, the President, Ladies of St. Mulumba Lady Dora Ihemeneke congratulated the elevated Ladies and charged them to sustain the support for the brothers to continue to remain in good standing.

Sub-Council officials that graced the occasion included Bro. Joseph Ogazi (Secretary), Bro Emmanuel Alakwem (Fin Sec), Bro Alphonsus Ugoji (PRO), Bro Theodore Onumakpado, (Welfare Officer), among others.

A Civil reception was later held in honour of the investees.
