KSM Mbama zone ends recollection at St. Anthony’s Umunkwo

Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba Nigeria, Mbama Zone of Ugiri Subordinate Council, Okigwe Diocese, converged at St. Anthony’s Parish Umunkwo, Isiala Mbano LGA, March 23, 2014 for their quarterly recollection at the instance of one of their own, Bro. (Barr.) Emma Osuji and Sister (Lady) Ebere Osuji.

The event which attracted friends and colleagues of the host from far and near kicked off with a Eucharistic sacrifice which had Rev. Fr. Dr. Vincent Oguh, Parish Priest, St. Anthony’s Umunkwo as chief celebrant.

In his sermon, the clergyman observed with regret that knights, rather than being supported in their good works for the church, are bombarded with barrage of skepticism and criticisms and cautioned against all forms of segregation and advocated synergy and cordiality with all the faithful.

He thanked the host, Bro. (Barr.) Emmanuel Osuji for using the opportunity to bring home his prominent friends to see things as they are.  He tabled before his guests, the precarious conditions of basic infrastructure in Umunkwo such as roads and schools and solicited the assistance of government and the private sector.

On behalf of the Mbama Zonal Leader KSM, Hon. Sir Livinus Ewurum, the Secretary, Ugiri Sub-Council, Bro. Valentine Oleru appreciated all present on the occasion knights and non knights alike.  He noted that the occasion served as a point of stock taking and prayer and thanked Fr. Vin Oguh for being there for them.

The host, Barr. Emmanuel Osuji in his remarks appreciated the brotherhood for given him the opportunity to host them inspite of what he described as his low ranking in the Order and made a cash donation to the parish, which opened a floodgate of donations from prominent people present such as Chief Leonard Iwuji and prominent Okigwe sons, Prof. Nnamdi Obiareri who arrived with a retinue of friends among them were Prof. B. Chukwumeze, Barr. B.O. Nosike, Mr. Imo Stanley, Barr. Kelechi Onyeama.  A group from National Open University also graced the occasion including the DPO Isu LGA, Mr. Hart Chime and wife.

Brother Knights and their Sisters were present in their numbers including Sir Livinus Ewurum, Sir Victor Ohiagu, Sir Leo Iwuji, Sir/Lady Raph Onuegbu, Sir/Lady Nathaniel Anyanele, Sir/Lady Mike Nwachukwu, among others.  Pa Ugoma Samuel Osuji, Daddy Bro. Emma Osuji was all over the place fraterning with guests as they were treated to a sumptuous launch.

Speaking with THE LEADER, the host, Bro. Barr. Emma Osuji thanked his guests for donating generously to the church in his home, especiatlly his brother knights and their sisters, a whole house of the Nigeria Bar Association including the State Secretary, Barr. L.U.A. Nwaketi and appreciated all who came for their solidarity.
