Kidnapers abduct medical student in Imo
Gunmen believed to be kidnappers stormed the Imo State University Teachisng Hospital (IMSUTH), Umuna Orlu, last Sunday and snatched a 700-level medical student..
The affected student was said to be scaling the staircase hostel at IMSUTH when the gunmen who trailed her to her institution, ordered her to follow them at gun point.
Sources said the gunmen beat the security man attached to the teaching hospital blue and black before bolting with the student, said to be married.
Her kidnappers are reported to have made contact with her family and demanded an undisclosed sum of money as ransom.
Her abduction came on the heels of Gov. Rochas Okorocha boasting at a church service in Owerri that his administration eradicated kidnapping and other sundry crimes in the state.
