CANONISATION OF POPE JOHN PAUL II: REMEMBERING THE EXIT OF A PRODIGY
… NINE YEARS AFTER: AN ELEGY!
Did they say the Pope is gone?
Or how did they say it was done?
A rare gem, towering oak of Wadowice,
Gave his life a perfect sacrifice-his Masters replica,
Setting the world on fire with love agape
But death struck four scores and four;
To dim this light, Unsalt the Earth!
Were death visible, the world,
Your friends would him overthrow,
But he came impregnable,
Robbing humanity of an enigma, nay Charisma.
Other kicked the bucket to expire,
But you grasped the Cross to retire,
Behold, Christians, Moslems mourn, Hindus mourn, Buddhists Wail,
Yeah, humanity bleeds- exit of a prodigy.
Thank God for Jesus,
He crushed death, removed his venom infernal,
So, we can chant alleluyah eternal,
Yea, by the death of death!
How our Wojtyla loved the Pulpit!
To pull humanity from the pit of vanity,
Used his Coffin to preach into eternity,
That the World is Vain, so, nothing to gain!
Save beloved Carol, dear Lord,
He wore out his sole that souls may be saved,
I see the Crowd of Witnesses, the great welcome,
Father Tansi says come,
Mother Theresa says come.
Adieu Apostle of Peace,
Adieu Vicar of Christ,
Requiescat in Pace!
