Arrangements have been concluded for this year’s Father’s Day at Maria Assumpta Cathedral Parish Owerri.  The ceremony takes place on Sunday, May 3, 2015 in Owerri Archdiocese.

The President of the Parish CMO, Prof. Dan Dan Ekezie told The Leader shortly after their general meeting on Wednesday, that he was satisfied with the progress of work by the Organizing Committee led by Dr. Alex Nwachukwu  and support by the new Cathedral Administrator, Fr. Gerard Onyekwere.  He then appealed to sodalities and the entire parishioners to give the CMO maximum co-operation to enable them realize the objective of the day

“There is the great need for Christian fathers in our parish to identify with the forthcoming Father’s Day”, Prof. Ekezie said in a press release circulated to parishioners on Sunday.

He however commended CMO members for their “continued support and generous contributions in church work and activities in the parish,” and hoped that this year Father’s Day would be the best in recent time.

Meanwhile, the President of Owerri Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Men Organization N.A. Nonyelum has directed all parishes to ensure that they observe the Father’s Day on that date.
