Your humility may fetch you kingdom of God at last – Catholic priest
The Spiritual Director Adoration Ministry, St. Joseph’s Parish Umuna in Orlu L.G.A Rev Fr Dr. Bede Idimogu said that a humble person worth jewel of the kingdom of God, adding that any person who humbles himself and look up to God, barely look down on people.
The cleric disclosed this while rendering a well articulated homily during a Holy Mass on Sunday August 28, 2016. He said that humility remains the secret of greatness and that no one is bigger or greater than others in the eyes of God.
Fr. Idimogu condemned the attitude of some people who parade themselves for cheap popularity, due to the title bestowed on them either in the church or in the society.
He said that humility and obedient conquers 73 percent of human problems, based on how close we are to God. Fr. Idimogu added that such good quality to human character pays a handsome reward, while pride and arrogant pays a prize of regret.
The homilist encouraged Christians to always read the scripture in order to understand what it teaches about humility. He said that many people today are being intimidated because of their humility and have no one to speak for them. Fr. Idimogu urged the public to shun the act of condemnation, character assassination, falsehood and cheating among the people of God.
He explained that Nigeria could be saved from its current situation only if they will turn to God and pray for his intervention. The cleric further enjoined leaders at all levels to understand their position that “they are called to serve and not to be served. He continued saying that, people should strive to be special to God not to parade themselves in order to be noticed.
