KSM Emekuku sub-council holds 2nd degree investiture
…Celebrates promoted members
The Order of Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria, Emekuku sub-council on Saturday Sept. 10, 2016 celebrated the investiture of her members elevated to different degrees of the Order recently.
The celebration began with a Holy Mass held in the sub-council’s chapel at Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Emekuku. Two knights and two Ladies who were earlier admitted to second degree were invested with their new regalia during the Mass. The investees are: Bro/Sis Dom Aribe and Bro/Sis Peter Okorie. While the Grand Knight of the Sub- Council, Bro. Henry Dozie presided over the admission and investiture of the two knights, the LSM President, Lady Ann Dozie performed that of the Ladies.
The Mass was also a thanksgiving for the sub-council’s members who were earlier raised to the 3rd and 4th degrees respectively on August 27, 2016 at Holy Trinity Cathedral Orlu. Nine members were promoted to 3rd degree while the Deputy Grand Knight of the sub-council, Bro Raphael Amadi was the only member elevated to 4th degree, along with his wife, Regina Amadi.
In a homily he delivered during the Mass, Rev. Fr. Chrisantus Ekwebelem admonished knights of the church to shun every form of idolatry and syncretism, warning that eating with idolaters of what was offered to idols, after partaking at the altar of the Lord, is the highest hypocrisy a Christian can practice.
Fr Ekwebelem who is also the chaplain of the sub-council opined that idolatry, syncretism and cultism have nothing good to offer to anyone rather they are direct road to hell fire.
He advised the newly elevated knights to renew and raise their participation in the activities of the order, advising them to work hard to guard their integrity and good name. He called on them to appreciate God’s benevolence in their lives by serving Him the more with their talents, treasures and time.
In his vote of thanks at the occasion, the Grand Knight of Emekuku sub-council, Bro Henry Dozie expressed his happiness that the event of the investiture happened during his tenure. He called on every member of the sub-council to make him proud by cooperating with the executive of the sub-council and with one another as his tenure is gradually coming to an end.
From the information made available to The Leader by the Secretary of the sub-council, Bro Patrick Njoku, Emekuku sub-council of the order of Knights of St. Mulumba was founded on May 7, 2005 and had its first initiation in 2006.
