Father of abducted school boy survives assassination in Ehime Mbano …Remains of killed son exhumed
Police operatives in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State have arrested a prime suspect in the abduction and killing of Master Uzochukwu Ashionye, the Primary One Pupil of Community Primary School Ihitteaforukwu who was kidnapped in August 22nd from their residence in broad day light.
The suspected villain, had approached the father of the school boy who is also his uncle, Mr. Mathias Ashionye, to produce the picture of the missing kidnap victim for him to glance. Unsuspectingly, the father of the boy went into his room in search of the said picture. He was piqued to discover that the suspect hide a sharp cutlass beneath his clothes and followed him into his room where he briskly pulled the cutlass and started macheting him. He gave him several cuts on various parts of his body in a bid to kill the elderly man. Believing that the man was dead, the villain made good his escape.
Luck smiled on the now battered helpless man who lay on a pool of blood as one of his children just arrived and caught a glimpse of the suspect as he was escaping with blood stained cutlass in his hands.
She raised alarm which attracted attention of the villagers who mobilised quickly and took the man away for medical attention at St. Silas Hospital Ihitteaforukwu, Ahiazu Mbaise L.G.A were doctors battled frantically to save his life.
The villain was released from detention after police authorities reported that the suspect ate his faeces while in custody and consequently released him for psychiatric attention to the bewilderment of natives and the victim’s family.
However, the bubble burst as shortly after his release, he went on and exhumed the remains of Master Uzochukwu Ashionye the primary one pupil who has been missing for over a year. The skull and bones of the slain boy were identified by his mother who confirmed the clothes which he wore on the day he got missing.
Irate mob from the area in a fit of anger went to the residence of the suspect and destroyed it. Meanwhile security operatives have also removed the remains of the little boy and arrested the culprit who is now helping the Police in their investigation.
The suspect had also allegedly killed his own sister simply identified as Nwanyi Sunday Ashionye with an axe. The remains of his slain sister is presently deposited at St. Vincent De Paul Mortuary as at the time of filling this report.
The Leader investigation reveals that the parents of the assassin are taking refuge at Ogbor-Ihitteaforukwu Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State. Questions begging for answers now include what is the motive for the killings? Is it for ritual purposes? Is the assassin deranged? If the answer is in the affirmative or negative, who will be the next victim and what will be the panacea.
