Emekuku Zone I celebrates Christmas Cantata

It was a moment of joy and praises to God Almighty as different choirs from different Parishes in Emekuku Zone 1 gathered together at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish Agbala for this year’s Christmas cantata.

Six choirs attended the ceremony. They include Holy Cross Emii, St. Jude’s Naze, Mount Carmel Emekuku, St. Mary’s Umuawuka, Holy Trinity Awaka, and the host Parish St. Mary’s Agbala.

In his opening speech, the Parish Priest of the host Parish on behalf of the entire parishioners welcomed the priests and their delegates from different parishes of the Zone and prayed to God Almighty to bless the occasion with the grace of the season.

In his opening remark, the co-ordinator Rev. Fr. Henry Opara on behalf of the Episcopal Vicar Rev. Fr. Dr. Alex Okoro reiterated that the annual event was initiated by the Episcopal vicar.

He went further to explain the rationale behind the occasion which boils on gathering together as a family all the choirs, parishioners and  priests around the zone to thank God and celebrate in the spirit of the season.

Songs and other renditions were made by different choirs to entertain the crowd. The priests present on the occasion were Rev. Fr. Remigius lhim, Very Rev. Fr. Gerald Amadi, Rev. Fr. Eustace Nwaneku, Rev. Fr. Donald Nwosu and Rev. Fr. Henry Opara.

The closing remark was given by Rev. Fr. Remigius Ihim the Parish Priest of St. Jude’s Naze. He thanked the Episcopal Vicar, the host pastor and the co-ordinator for their good works towards the success of this annual programme.

Among those also present were the zonal choir leader Mr. Emeribe Paschal, Parish Pastoral Council Chairman of the host Parish, Mr. Lazarus Anusiem, C.W.O President Mrs. Nkwopara Rita and a host of others.
