Priestly Golden Jubilee Celebration – Msgr. Nwokocha expresses gratitude
Very Rev. Msgr. Dr. Celestine Amaraegbu Nwokocha has expressed profound gratitude to all and sundry who made out time to attend and all who contributed in one way or the other to the successful celebration of his 50th anniversary of Priestly Ordination which was held on Saturday 17th December 2016 at St. Paul’s Satelite Parish Umuezeala-ama, Ehime Mbano, Imo State.
Very Rev. Msgr. Nwokocha made his feelings known during a post anniversary media chat in his office recently.
His gratitude goes to Bishop of Okigwe Diocese, Most Rev. S.A. Amatu, the Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Most Rev. L.I. Ugorji for gracing the memorable occasion. Equally appreciated are Msgr. John L. Ukaegbu (Umuahia), Msgr. Mojekwu Bertrand (Awka Diocese), among others.
Also appreciated are the entire priests and Religious of the Diocese of Okigwe, including those of Umuahia, Orlu, Aba, Ahiara Dioceses in addition to Awka, Enugu and all others in Nigeria and diaspora for their demonstration of resounding solidarity during, before and after the celebration. Not left out in the gratitude galore are the knights of the church especially the KSM in Okigwe Diocese. Also appreciated are Mr. Philip Chukwu (KSM) (Chairman Reception), Hon Patrick Ndubueze and his kits and kin from the jubilarian roots-Holy Family Parish Umualumoke Okigwe and contiguous entities for their support.
The golden Priest also reckons with the invaluable solidarity of his parishioners in St. Paul’s Umuezeala-ama, and the native community and their royal father HRH Eze Aloy Igwe, his cabinet and many prominent indigenes of the area, the Ehime Mbano Deanery choir. Also applauded was the dexterity of the Golden Jubilee Planning Committee headed by Fr. Dr. Mark Okoro and the two parochial vicars of the jubilarian Rev. Frs. Adolphus Ofokpara and Anthony Omegara, including all members of the committee not mentioned here due to want of space.
Also acknowledged is the support of all parishes where his Priestly assignment has so far taken him to, as they thronged the venue of the event in their numbers.
His special thanks go to all those whose positive contributions, financial and moral support went unnoticed by him but noticed by the all-seeing God.
To all and sundry, Msgr. Celestine Nwokocha (aka De Mons) says, “May God reward you all abundantly, silver and gold none have I, but I will remember you all in my daily Masses”.
It would be recalled that Very Rev. Msgr. Dr. C.A. Nwokocha was ordained Catholic Priest in St. Peter’s Basilica Rome by His Eminence, Gregory Peter, Cardinal Agagianian (Prefect Propaganda Fide Rome) on Friday 16th December, 1996.
