…As St Michael’s School Amakohia graduates 29 pupils
Children have been charged to always listen to instructions and obey their parents and teachers if they hope to learn and achieve success in life.
Very Rev Fr Patrick Ibole Parish priest of St Michael’s Catholic Church, Amakohia Uratta, gave this advice on Saturday, 14th July, 2017 during the graduation ceremony of St Michael’s Nursery/Primary school.
Fr Ibole who is the Vicar General of the Owerri Archdiocese urged children to be thankful to their parents for sending them to be trained in the knowledge and fear of God. He equally thanked parents and teachers for their efforts to prepare them for the future.
In his address, the school’s Headmistress, Lolo Theresa Epuchiem was full of commendation for the school’s management for making sure that both teachers and pupils have good learning environment.
She revealed that the school had recorded great achievements academically which include the primary six pupil – Master Chidindu James Hilary Onuiwu, who authored a novel titled: ‘Chaimaka the Zion Girl’ as well as the wining of scholarships from Good Morning Scholarship Foundation by two pupils of the school-Anyanwu Anita and Obiefule Chinaemerem.
Chairman of the graduation ceremony, Engr. Damian Nze in his remarks expressed joy that St Michael’s Nursery/Primary School has grown to a higher standard, adding that sees future professionals in various fields of endeavour among the pupils.
While thanking, Fr Ibole for his efforts as the School Manager, Engr. Nze stated that they are proud of the staff, parents and the pupils of the school.
A total of 29 pupils took part in the school’s graduation. Seventeen (17) of them graduated from nursery to primary section While twelve (12) primary school pupils will be proceeding to the secondary school level.
Highlights of the graduation ceremony include drama, calisthenics, debate presentations and the lightening of Candles of light for the graduating pupils by their parents and guardians.
