The number of candidates wishing to occupy Douglas House Owerri is swelling day by day. The latest entrant is Barr. Stephen Nwoga who said he is very much interested to restore hope to Imo State.
Barr Nwoga, who will be contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) made his intention public at Kanu Nwankwo Events Centre, Owerri Feb. 24. He revealed that one of the major reasons he is running for the highest political office in the state is to repair the damages that have been inflicted on the good people of Imo State.
Speaking on the theme of his campaign “Oge Eruola”, the Governorship aspirant stressed that, time has come for workers to get their salaries at when due and complete, pensioners to receive their pensions, improvement of the quality and condition of education in the state, creation of job opportunities for the unemployed youths, pointing out that we have about 800,000 unemployed youths in the state.
Barr Nwoga bitterly lamented that Imo State has an IGR of 250 million Naira while that of our neighbouring state Anambra is 2 billion Naira.
“I am proud of APGA and every other aspirants running under APGA for 2019 Imo Governorship election, my dream is for all the aspirants to work together in peace and unity, whether you are supporting me or other aspirants, the most important thing is that APGA wins Douglas House,” Barr. Nwoga appealed.
Reacting to the declaration of Barr Nwoga, the state chairman of APGA, Barr Peter Ezeobi commended him for his declaring support for any candidate that APGA chooses to represent the platform.
