2019: We’ll resist rigging in Imo – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned that the era of rigging or writing fictitious results is over, stressing that the party will never allow that happen again.

Chief Charles Ezekwem, Imo State Chairman of PDP gave this warning during a press briefing in Owerri, March 8.
“We must ensure that the people’s will prevail contrary to the scheming and expectations of the APC,” he said.

The PDP boss alleged that the APC in Imo State was working assiduously on how to subvert the will of Imolites in 2019 having become very unpopular because of its gross mal-administration and record of monumental corruption.
“Its only hope now lies in rigging elections but that cannot happen again. PDP will put in place, a water tight anti-rigging formular that will shock APC leaders in 2019.”

He said that APC which Imo People mistakenly entrusted with their mandate has metamorphosed into a monster, now devouring its owners.

“It is not contestable that APC under Governor Rochas Okorocha is a representation of recklessness, corruption, callousness, nepotism, thuggery and irritating deception.”

“In all, I wish to state unequivocally that APC is a colossal failure and must be shown the way out come 2019. Allowing the APC to continue at any level of governance in Nigeria in 2019 is tantamount to sending Nigerians to another four years imprisonment (in the words of former President Olusegun Obasanjo).”

Barr. Ezekwem appealed to ndi Imo and indeed Nigerians to procure their Permanent Voters Cards, adding that “this is our legitimate weapon to enthrone good governance in the state and Nigeria.”
