In his homily, Fr. Emmanuel Chukwujike appreciated the presence of the retinue of priests, the two families united with the bond of marriage, and the congregation for finding time to grace the event.
According to him, the couple has come to celebrate love which is God. He referenced Genesis chapter 1 which says that at the beginning, God created man and woman. He related the homily to the 1st reading taken from Ecclesiastes 24 Verses 1-4,13-16 which says” How blessed is the husband of a really good wife; the number of his days will be doubled, a perfect wife is the joy of her husband, he will live out of the years of his life in peace, a good wife is the best of portions, reserved for those who fear the Lord, rich or poor, their hearts will be glad, their faces cheerful, whatever the reason. The grace of a wife will charm her husband; her understanding is a gift from the Lord, no price can be put on a well trained character. A modest wife is a boon twice over, a chaste character cannot be overvalued.
The homilist admonished the new couple to learn to trust themselves, pray together and live Godly life. He cautioned them against intruders infiltrating their marriage, warning that if God is not with them, their marriage is in trouble. Fr. Chukwujike advised against divulging their problems or secrets to any man but God. He also enjoined the congregation to ensure constant prayers for the new family so that they succeed.
In his remarks, Very Rev. Fr. Felix Okonkwo, Parish Priest extolled the concelebrants for their presence. He observed that the groom was a seminarian which necessitated the presence of the priests who were his colleagues in the seminary. He eulogized Nze Damian Iwuagwu, the father of the bride who is also the State Secretary of ANCOPPS for ensuring the wedding was held at his Parish.
In his brief remarks, Nze Damian Iwuagwu expressed warm felicitation to the congregation and top brass personalities including Sir and Lady Napoleon Aniche (KSJI), State NUT Chairman who attended the ceremony with members of the State Working Committee, Nze Goddy Amaku, Chief Patrick Amakri , Azubuike Chigozie (Daddy), Sir C.Y C. Ogu, Lady Ukanyirioha and Engr. Paul Okolie, ANCOPPS members among others.
The Leader spoke with Azubuike Chigozie (Daddy), the Chairman of the unique club on the reason for the tumultuous crowd at the event. According to him, Emma Eke, the new husband is a trusted ally who treasured relationships, hence the presence of the large crowd. He prayed God to bless the new couple with Abraham’s blessings.
It is noteworthy that the white wedding preceded the traditional wedding which was combined at the grant reception at the Umuduruaro Agbaja abode of Mr. & Mrs. Damian Iwuagwu.
