…Fr Eke commits project to God
Members of the general public who feel that availability of enough materials and structural facilities as well as financial capital are the only primary requirements for establishing long term investments should pause awhile.
This is because Community General Hospital Eziobodo, Owerri West LGA has been reopened following a prayer and blessing exercise showered on the project. Mrs. Stella Okere, the chief medical director who ensured that the hitherto moribund hospital would not resume without passing through spiritual rebirth, believed that submitting the new hospital into God’s hands would serve not only as a prelude for long term success and sustainability, but also a vista for erecting a spiritual bond of investment strongly built on God.
Conducting the low-key reopening event on Thursday April 26, Rev. Fr. Christian Eke anchored his blessings and prayers on the scriptural words of Psalm 127verse1: If God does not build a house, in vain the builders labour.
Fr. Eke who is the parish priest of St. Patrick’s Church Mbutu Okohia equally prayed God to grant divine healings to those who seek help in the place. He said: “For those who will visit the hospital with genuine intention, may God answer and grant you healings.” He charged nurses and other prospective healthcare attendants in the hospital to be upright in duty, reminding them that the place had become a blessed and holy ground.
In a vote of thanks, Mrs. Okere thanked the priest and others who were at the event for availing themselves the time of participation. She observed that it was her intention to bring back the glorious days of the hospital which she said had been hampered by lengthy years of negligence. “My aim is to see how this place can be resuscitated for optimal use,” the medical director stated, adding that dilapidation and deterioration were challenges she was hugely facing. “Yes these are great challenges, but you can also see that the face-lift is on a positive dimension. We must surmount them by taking it step by step,” she assured. Mrs. Okere also expressed delight for kick-starting the project with prayers and blessings, believing that with God’s help her goals would be attained.
Participants at the event included: some staff of the hospital, a team of experts from Chinalurumagha Memorial Clinic and Maternity, Umukoto Nekede and representatives of Eziobodo community men and women leaders.
Information from the hospital management says the hospital would run services such as: 24 hour services, medical advice, scan, and antenatal/maternity care. Others are surgery, family planning and immunization.
Just as the management revealed its intention to inform the general public on the ongoing recruitment of trained staff, nurses and midwives, it also stated that there would be free medical examination from Monday May 7 – Friday May 11, 2018.
